One of the realities and blessings of this pandemic time has been being creative with our worship opportunities. With Easter being the highlight of our Christian year, our congregations are keen to offer a worship service that is safe and meaningful, and provides an opportunity to gather together as community.
Our Easter Drive-In Service (Sunday April 4th, 10 a.m.) at the BMG Community Centre (800 Sports Dr., Brussels) is going ahead as planned, following provincial and health guidelines. Here is a layout of how the service will go, so you are prepared and comfortable to celebrate the arrival of the Easter season:
Please do not attend this service if you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19.
Please do not leave your vehicle at any point during the service, except in the case of an emergency. Washrooms will not be available for use during the service.
Please only have those in your household in your vehicle.
We are encouraging folks not to idle their vehicles during the service – please dress for the temperature.
Arriving to Worship:
- This service begins at 10:00 a.m.; in order that we can have everyone parked and ready for the service, you are encouraged to show up a bit early.
- Please enter the arena parking lot via Ainley St.; there will be signage on the street.
- Coming to the lot, you will be given a package containing a bulletin and hymn lyric sheet. You will then be directed to where you will park. There must be at least 6′ between vehicles.
- At this point, it is not known if/which radio frequency the service will be broadcasted on. In the worst case scenario, open your window a crack, and the mics and keyboard will be turned up for all to hear. This will be communicated to you as you get your bulletin.
- Exiting Worship:
- Please exit the arena parking lot via Sports Dr.; you will be dismissed by Alex per row. Please be patient.
- As you are exiting, there will be people to collect offering and donations for the Huron Women’s Shelter. Offerings to the congregations must be in an envelope and/or clearly marked for which congregation it is to go to. Loose offering and material donations will go to the Women’s Shelter.
For more information, contact Alex at minister.brusselsandblythuc@gmail.com, or leave a message at either church office.
We look forward to worshipping with you all safely and faithfully. As we go into this Easter season, may we take heart in God’s vulnerable and triumphant love being made known in bleak times. And may we support each other as a community, as we have been doing all this time. Blessings to you and yours this Easter.
