Upcoming Worship Opportunities

Love is in the air! And, if it is in the air in Brussels and Blyth, love is probably a little bit chilly right now. Yet even in the midst of this chilly winter, the warmth and light of God is being made known in our lives, including in our worship.

This Sunday, February 14th, our congregations will be offering two opportunities to worship. As usual, we will be having a prerecorded service posted on our Youtube page, Facebook, and our website right here! This week’s service is the celebration of Transfiguration Sunday, the final Sunday in the season of Epiphany. As we finish the season, we will celebrate and reflect once more on the revelation that is God being with us.

On Sunday, we will also be having a Zoom prayer and communion service, starting at 10:30 a.m.; share in the Christian meal of love with those you love. We’ll be exploring a bit about the nature of love in our faith, and enjoy each other’s company. You can bring your own bread and beverage of choice for the service.

The Zoom link for this service will be sent out to those on the congregational email lists later this week. If you aren’t on this list and want to join in the Zoom service, or want some help with setting up and using Zoom, you can reach out to Alex directly, either by email or leaving a message at either church office.

Another important liturgical date coming up is Ash Wednesday, on February 17th. We will be having another prerecorded service to prepare ourselves for the start of Lent. This service will be provided by Alex Jebson, as well as Rev. JoAnn Todd, rector at the Regional Ministry of Hope (the Anglican churches of Blyth, Brussels, and Wingham).

We hope that you will be able to join us for some or all of these worship opportunities. To celebrate and investigate our relationship with God and one another in worship is one of the great blessings of our faith. The Peace of Christ be with you all as we head into Lent, and hopefully some warmer days ahead!
